Maisy Capps Studio was founded in 2019 in a Los Angeles backyard. 

 

After attending Bennington College and later graduating from Art Center College of Design in 2020, Capps began working from a home studio. Designed and built by Fred Sutherland, the studio, in addition to more time spent at home, strengthened her interest in functional design.

What began as a pottery space is now a design lab, and supports ideation in a vast range of materials and processes. Partnerships with other craftspeople in the Los Angeles area make producing in endless materials possible.

Capps began sourcing wood from Angel City Lumber in the winter of 2022, making a fulfilling step towards conscientious material procurement.
